The Lowlands region spans from Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh, north to Fife, west to the industrial city of Glasgow and south to Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders regions. Like its expanse, the region’s spirit output is huge. Six out of eight of the country’s grain distilleries call the Lowlands home but in contrast to these giants, it’s also the fastest growing whisky region in Scotland. New innovative distilleries have been opening in recent years with a keen focus on sustainability.
