Embra:

92 points Whisky Advocate, "A peated expression from this urban distiller, founded in 2019 and just a short walk from Edinburgh’s historic center. This has dryness, minerality, sea shells, and salinity on the nose. The palate is peated but sweet and light with a background of peat that leads with honey, vanilla, poached pear and apricot. Smoke returns on the finish, melded beautifully with sweetness of pears and vanilla. Unusually light for a peated expression but very good."

Cask Type: Triple Cask Maturation - First Fill Bourbon, Peated Islay Quarter Cask & American New Oak

Nose: Lemon zest, horse chestnut pith, hints of peppermint and light hickory smoke

Palate: Wafer biscuits, dark chocolate mousse, notes of earthy Highland peat smoke

Finish: Light stewed pears, with a well rounded clean finish

Ambir:

91 points Whisky Advocate, "Ambir includes a variety of specialty malts including Highland peated, Vienna, chocolate and Crystal 240. It is sweet and fruity, with excellent balance. On the nose, there’s pineapple, vanilla ice cream and honeyed oats. The palate delivers cocoa powder, cantaloupe, and a whisper of smoked spice. The finish is warming, with gentle smoke and waves of dried fruit."

Cask Type: Double Cask Maturation - First Fill Bourbon & Spanish Oloroso

Bottle Size: 700ml

Nose: Caramel, creamy fudge, Demerara sugar, Scottish tablet

Palate: Red fruits, vanilla and cornflakes

Finish: Biscuit velvet texture, mouth watering, hint of savoury at the end
